I personally love this one!  It always bothered me that I couldn't see the status LEDs on the Raspberry Pi.  When we hit this stretch goal, everyone will receive the Fiber Optic Status LED Upgrade.

At $9000 we'll include a black acrylic face plate cut on a professional laser cutter.  Thank you to all the backers and remember to help spread the word.   Let's smash this goal as soon as possible and see what other goals we can come up with!

My good friend Dave created a great custom label for the Pi3Cart.  If we hit $8,000 every kit will include a professionally printed copy of this label.

Production and Shipping News
almost 8 years ago – Sun, Dec 11, 2016 at 04:19:34 AM

Parts are coming in and production has begun! All of the boards for the first round of assembled kits have been stripped of their USB and Ethernet ports and are ready for installation of the new USB ports.

Some parts will not be ready for a couple of weeks but it looks like meeting the December shipping goal should not be a problem.  However, Christmas delivery will not be guaranteed due to the Kickstarter payment processing window.  Since Kickstarter processes all payments after the funding window closes, I will not be able to ship the kits immediately even though they are on track to be finished by then.  I will do everything I can to get rewards out as soon as possible.  To help this process please ensure that your payment info is correct and fill out the reward surveys as soon as possible when they are sent out.

I've had several questions about directions for kit assembly.  The current plan is to produce an instructional video providing a step by step assembly guide.  Once I am certain there will be no more design changes, the video will be created and shared online.  The overall design of the kit is finalized, but a few minor improvements are in the works to speed up manufacturing of the mounting brackets and kit assembly.

TIP: As we are heading into the holiday shopping season there should be plenty of good deals on micro SD cards.  Remember that none of the reward levels include an SD card so now is a great time to pick one up if you don't already have it.

Again, I offer the sincerest of thanks to all of you and look forward to sharing the Pi3Cart with you!

Home From Vacation
almost 8 years ago – Sun, Dec 11, 2016 at 04:18:05 AM

I have an admission to make.  I launched this project while I was on vacation at Disney World with my family.  I never expected the Kickstarter community to embrace the Pi3Cart so quickly.  Thank you all so much!  It's been a crazy few days of trying to keep up with the project from my smartphone while waiting in lines for rides.  I am back home now and ready to start working quickly.  I am ordering parts today so production can begin and the December kits can be ready to ship immediately after payments are processed when the campaign ends.  If possible I will ship the January pledges immediately after payment as well.

Stretch Goals

I have a few interesting ideas for stretch goals but it may take a couple of days for me to plan them out.  My biggest concern with this project is ensuring that I don't over commit myself on anything.  I have been on the backer end of Kickstarter projects that have gone very badly and I refuse to let that happen here.  Therefore I won't post anything until I am certain I can deliver.  So while stretch goals are fun, ensuring quick production on the base kits is my highest priority.  If you have any fun ideas for stretch goals feel free to message me and I'll see what I can do.

Thanks Again!

As always, I can not thank my backers enough.  Remember to help spread the word!
